When you are sending an Identity Verification to a client through Treefort, you only need to provide minimal information: the client’s email address and mobile phone number. The client receives a link to complete the process and can only participate after reviewing and accepting a detailed Privacy Notice/Policy.
By agreeing, the client authorizes us to use information from the government issued ID they choose to upload during the process to verify their identity against data from trusted third-party sources (e.g., government-issued ID, TransUnion, etc.). Any data received from these third-party sources is encrypted during transmission and stored securely in an encrypted database on AWS servers, in full compliance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
